- At a Gujarati Kanbi (Kunbi) Dating event you will meet many single people in one evening. In a bar or nightclub environment, it is often hard to speak to people who you fancy. Our events are held in a safe, secure and relaxed environment. You will be able to speak to all of the participants knowing from the start that they are all single.
- Will I be seen as being desperate?
NO! Of course not. No one thinks they are desperate when their friends and family are setting them up, so how is this any different? Bear in mind that those attending will have one thing in common, TO MEET SOMEONE. - You know you are single, and you know what you are looking for, so why go through a long winded family introductions when you can come and experience the benefits of speed dating!
How does it all work?
- As soon as you have booked your place, you will receive confirmation by email. Please note, you will not be sent tickets, but your name will be on the guest list.
- As you arrive at the venue, you will be greeted by one of our hosts, who will sign you in, give you a badge and scorecard. The event will start once everyone has registered. Firstly, your host will explain the plan for the evening. The women usually stay seated, while the men move between tables every three minutes. At the end of each date, you should mark your scorecard as to whether or not you’d like to see that person again, and add any comments to help jog your memory after the event. To avoid causing any embarrassment, please only mark the scorecard after each date.
- Throughout the evening, there will be several short breaks, please feel free to nip to the bar. After the dating has finished, your completed scorecard will be collected by one of our hosts. Finally, the bar will remain open, and you are welcome to stay on for a drink and a chat. In fact, after the event, when everyone has met, and had a drink or two, this is often the most fun part. So please stay and enjoy yourself!
When do I get my results?
- You will receive your match details within 24hrs, so you can get busy arranging your next more intimate dates with the people you have CHOSEN to spend time with.
How many dates will I get at the event?
- The minimum number of dates is 15, however we will do our best to arrange more. Given the intensity of speed dating we limit the numbers of participants to 50 (25 male 25 females). We go to enormous efforts to ensure sufficient numbers and a healthy ratio between men and women; however we can never guarantee how many dates you will get, as sometimes people simply don't turn up.
Why is each date only three minutes long?
- Three minutes is long enough for most people to know if they would like to see someone again, and to ascertain whether or not there is a ‘spark’. On the other hand though, with someone you positively don’t like, three minutes can be an eternity! Have a few prepared speed dating questions handy for such circumstances.
Do many people go by themselves?
- Around a third of the women, and half of the men attend events on their own. Don’t worry, there will be other people there in the same boat, and our hosts will do their best to make you feel at ease.
May I bring a friend?
- Of course you may, as many as you like in fact. The more the merrier! If you are in a group though, please try and book early, so we can do our best to ensure you a ticket.
Are there any specific requirements for buying a ticket?
- Not really, obviously you need to be Gujarati Kanbi (Kunbi), single, have an e-mail address, credit or debit card, and to fit in with the age range requirements for the event.
What payment cards do you accept and when will I be charged?
- All major credit and debit cards are accepted. We take payment through PayPal. We will charge your card when you book your event. The name that will appear on your statement is "PayPal - KD".
Why do I have to pay in advance?
- In order to ensure a 50/50 ratio we have organized for the tickets to be sold in advance.
Can I pay at the door?
- Unfortunately not, as we need to ensure sufficient numbers and a 50/50 ratio of men and women. The only way to do this is by ensuring tickets are booked in advance. However please check the website near the time of the event for tickets that maybe available on the door.
How should I dress?
- That’s down to you but, ultimately, wear whatever you are comfortable in. As a guideline, on weekday evenings, most guests will arrive straight from work. One point to remember however is that first impressions do count, and in speed dating that could not be more relevant. If in doubt, dress to impress! (No trainers or scruffy jeans).
What is your cancellation policy?
- In order to get a refund we ask that you inform us 3 days before the event so that we can re-issue the tickets. We cannot make refunds for tickets cancelled within 3 days of the event. Please see the Terms & Conditions for complete details.
